The Middle East which relies heavily on imported food, have diverse sources, and can continue without China for the time being. Jordan, Turkey, and Egypt have temporarily banned the entry of meat, vegetables, and seafood from China. GCC countries also import from Europe, the US, and other parts of Asia. Traders who re-export to the Middle East region are affected. For now companies say they are absorbing the impact on prices, but this could change if the situation in China continues.
